Hit Civil War battlefield site in Western Md.
Started at hill where Confederate artillery was positioned. On my way up the hill I found the Josephus I coin.
At the top found iron handle crank and iron ring. High uncut grass made it tuff. I worked toward low hanging thorn tree and got a good signal under 6โ€ root. Dug out a Confederate Gardner. Then short distance away got leather belt piece with grommet.
Then found a small flattened pistol bullet and a high impact bullet.
Decided to change sides so went to corn stubble field where Union artillery was positioned. On way to that high spot found the pin type object? Could this be a Union unit item? At top of hill found 3 ring drop and large roundball. Found high impact bullet and very small buck shot? Lastly found 3 ring solid base bullet and another roundball. Great day hot and lots of targets.

It's amazing to imagine how this coin ended up being lost where it did. :icon_scratch:
Yes it is! Just hoping to find some Civil War relics and first good signal is this coin. And readable to ID. Iโ€™ve found lots of large Pennies with no markings. You just never know what can turn up!
Happy Hunting Dave.
