Walked into a bank today and saw a silver rim in the half dollar slot of the teller's tray. I knew right away it was a 40%er, but of all the years it could have been, it was a 1970-S :hello2: My first, I'm now a proud member of the exclusive 1970 club ;D

Also picked up 4 boxes over the week, which are getting better. I totaled:

[26] 40%s
[4] 90%s
[1] Ben

[1] proof (1981-S)
[11] NIFC (including 2 1987s!)

Also pulled 2 silver dimes from a dime box today, a 1951-S and 1953-D. I have 2 boxes of quarters waiting to be opened, hoping they are as good!

HH!

Nice scores there!!! I can't wait to join the '70 club myself!!!

HH,

$ilver$urfer :hello:

Nice find on the 70, i've only found 3 in over 4 years of searching. Nice boxes too. :icon_thumleft:

Just finished the 2 boxes of quarters and got 1 silver quarter! It's a 1945. Guess that's a type of silver trifecta, right? Got silver dimes, quarters, and halves today ;D

HH everyone!

I've gotten some 70-D or 70-S before.. I think the "Old Skool Commemorative Silver Club" is more exclusive or the "Barber Club". It took me a long time before I got my first Barber then I got a 1923-S Monroe Doctrine last week and I've been doing this since 2001.

I got lucky about a year ago and got a 70s and a 70d in the same box. Still am looking for that elusive Barber, although I have found quite a few Walkers.

I once got a single handroll that had one each 70d, 70s, 87d and 87s.
I've found 5 70s and 4 70d over the last 3 years.

Seems you are on a nice silver roll! Welcome to the club. Albiet, I have only joined once. :laughing7:

apush :read2:

Syrys,
Congratulations! Those '70's are hard to come by, I'm glad to hear you scoped one out! Sharp eyes pay off every time. I hope this is the first of many for you. I've been lucky to pull both the 1970-D and 1970-s. Those low mintage coins generally come in looking really brilliant.
Happy Hunting,
Steve
