John Tyler coin I haven't found on google.

Here is a coin I found today. It pings silver/copper ony cheapo metal detector
Found it in a dry Creek bed.
I can't seem to find any pics of it on Google.
The coin reads

Front:
John Tyler
10th President 1841-1845
Back:
John Tyler
1790 - 1862
Birth place Virginia
Party whig
John Tyler was the first president to be married in office.
His term is best remembered for the annexation of Texas

There must be a dozen different Tyler commemorative tokens/coins/medals out there, but like you, I can't find a match to yours anywhere.

I think there were three different sets of presidential tokens produced. The first one was brass, the last two were aluminum. The last set was from Shell Oil, I think. I believe yours' came from the second set, the one before the Shell set? Neat Find!!

This one wasn't identified when brought forward yrs. ago.
It was said to be aluminum and had a reeded edge.

Another one was seen on eBay for $3.00.

I keep ALL tokens,.. Regardless of their value and/or rarity. To me, that is a nice find!

If you THINK it's cool, than it IS cool.

I have stuff saved that other guys aren't into. Who knows what or why the brain gets triggered in this hobby.

And if you don't know, check here first. I think I tossed a powder flask top a while ago, because I thought it looked like a plumbing part. Later when I saw one, I almost threw my laptop.
