I found a gold ring yesterday the marks are real small and I can't get a good pic of the mark it is 14ksc the ring has a center post for a pearl that is missing and my question is does the sc stand for synthetic cultured? 100_6111.JPG100_6112.JPGYou can see in the pictures a little glue where it held the pearl. Also does anyone know how to remove that glue without hurting the ring.

I've never seen a pearl ring that indicated by a mark anything about the pearl itself. most likely the mfg initials or trademark. you can get the glue off with some solvent

O.K thanks I thought solvent but didn't know if it would discolor the gold.

Use acetone. That won't discolor metal.
