Jewelry or what?

I found this at an older home site. I placed the little piece of "wire" on the back of it in the approximate position that it appears to have been welded to. I don't know if this is half a piece of something or some kind of jewelry that would have had a stone in the middle of it. This is also an area that a lot of horse stuff has showed up. I don't think it's a concho off of a saddle but then again I don't know. It appears to be copper or bronze but I'm no expert so I'm not sure exactly what it is made of. Thanks ahead of time for any input?

looks like part of the buckle from a woman's sash belt. possibly 1880's to around 1900-ish

I agree, 1/2 of a sash buckle. But I think it could be right up into the 1920s.
