I found this piece the other day and don't understand what the mark on it means. I believe this is some type of Jewelry and it was about 8 inches deep. The 1- is the only mark on it. What does it mean?

I have also seen very similar made devices that were part of a curtain rod which the large hole slid on a wooden rod and the small hole was where the curtain hung. The writing on the large portion of the ring may indicate ring size which would make the ID fit the sizer guess more than my input. Pls. show that portion of the ring so we can see. Interesting find.
