I don't know much about jewelry, so how do I know if what I have found is worht anything. This weekend I found a plain silver chain and a gold chain with a heart shaped pendant with "diamonds" around iting on the clasp on both. What does it mean? Can anyone help? I have only been detecting since June of 2007 and up to this point have only found 3 rings, all unmarked. Appreciate any help you can give me.

Are there any letters, words, designs or such that might help identify makers?

The only markings are 925 on the clasp on both of the chains.

Items marked .925 are silver, and if you see yellow metal marked 925 it most likely is gold plate on .925 silver base metal. Post a photo if you can.
