Jeweler's mark ID help

OK, we've got a sterling silver hinged bracelet with leaf detail, a small chain, and a GIANT chunk of amber.

The marks on it are as follows...

A circle with a head in it
A rectangle with W 925 and another head in it
And an oval with RD in it

Got it for 20 bucks from a friend who claimed it was 200 years old.
I'm doubting the age on it, and I'm fairly certain that the small chain and clasp piece are newer.

Will post pics soon.

Re: Jeweler's mark ID help

Crappy pics but the mark is clear enough.

The only Hallmark I could find with a portraite right was Russian, and French. I don't think it's American made :dontknow:

I was thinking Russian too. I just can't fint the mark. I've searched for 45 min. looking. Nice looking piece. I agree though, I don't think it's 200 years old, the marks would be more identifiable I believe, if it were that old.

She also said it was from Ireland...
It would be easily identifiable if it were an Irish piece. Ireland and Great Britian have some of the most highly structured hallmarking systems in the world.

Re: Jeweler's mark ID help

Could be English, Richard Duncan used a RD in an oval during the 19th century

http://www.silvercollection.it/Englishsilvermarks3R.html

About halfway down he is listed, no pic though, also the circle in the head is listed at the bottom of the
page as being used in the 19th century also.

Closest I can come, gave it the old Texas try anyhow

The ring may be older, but the first mark indicates that it has been remarked, and the second mark indicates it was done in Warsaw, Poland, post 1986.

A map! :tongue3:

Google lead me there. First search was for: "W over .925" silver

First link in the list told me it was Polish:

Second search : Polish silver hallmarks

Second link on the list was the one I posted.

Re: Jeweler's mark ID help

I AM SOOOOO SORRY!!!!

The last couple decades months have been... insane...

I got wrapped up in getting products ready for an art festival... then I got wrapped up in trying to get compensation for everything they destroyed... then I got wrapped up in designing new products...

And then I forgot.

I agree with the ID it is polish, and I really do appreciate all the help from all of you who are more knowledgable than I am.
