Jeweled What

Dug this yesterday with half a dozen buttons and some lead. The stone or glass is missing from one side, one of the metal bars that connects the jewels is toothed on both sides. I'm not sure what it is or how old, any ideas?

Forgot a very important fact. There is a little square that is barely open directly behind the jewel. Maybe a catch or something.

Probably where the other end connected
If it wasn't adjustable.

Sounds normal Though.

Would need good Pics to say for sure
