Today at Rotary Park, baseball park, Jeff found a 1997 Walking Liberty Silver Dollar with 1 oz. Fine Silver where people park there cars. In Silver content alone it is worth $17.66 today. This thing is huge!

Jeff said it was 2-3 inches down and showed as a 50 cent piece to a dollar! On my M6 it was a dollar at VDI 94.

Jeff is walking on air right now and showing it to everyone.

Funny he finds these unusual coins when I am not with him....lol

Here is the front from an on-line pic. Real ones below.

Oh by the way, JEff mentions as he is heading home, did I tell you I found a ring too! He is skunking me big time. Oh, by the way....ya ya ya ya

Great finds!

But there's one thing that I really want to know, why in the world would anybody want to carry around a silver eagle like it was pocket change? Are they thinking about using it to feed a parking meter or something? ::) ;D

You'd be surprised at what people carry, had a friend who, for years carried a 2 1/2 dollar gold coin, lost it about three years ago, went and bought another one to carry it around!! Might have been a gift, maybe a child took it and lost it while playing with friends. Nice find!!

It sure looks pretty after commin from a parking area, youd think it would have gotten all scratched up or somthin. But nope it sure looks big n pretty. ;D

Jeff you sly dog you... I can imagine that grin in my mind...... congrats my friend on a big silver.... have been huntin 17+ years and have not found a coin like that... have found only 2 silver Halves, both Walkers ('20, and '36) congrats my friend!

You know ladies and gents, you may purchase this very same silver seeking machine from Jeff.... just check it out under the classified section.......

On a side note.. I got called to find a 2 1/2 dollar gold piece last year.. a guy wore it around his neck and lost it several years ago.... 4"-5" of solid gravel.... and all kinds of pop tabs and sorted aluminum.... I never did find it...... then after hrs and hrs of searching.. he tells me... "Well Im not sure I lost it in here even.. it might have been out there in the big field...(which was 3-4 acres and weeds chest high now LOL) but it does happen that people carry very nice coins and lose them in modern places
