Jean Laffite "Revealed"

has anyone read the book Jean Laffite Revealed? I'm purchasing and excited to read. Turns out these ladies have located Laffite. What I'd like to know from this news video below, is if Laffite did live this time in NC and never worked, I'm assuming he had his caches somewhere near by to dip into. Does this mean it's still some to be found and has anyone attempted this?
