A remarkable find from the Jazz Age of which I had no clue existed. No surprise there but this stunning silver compact turned out to be a bit more as a "finger ring dance compact," a fashionable and functional accessory for the ladies embracing their new freedoms. Refs showed that applying makeup in public was a styl'n thing to do, thus this great bling designed to be secured by a finger ring and chain. This piece lacked the ring/chain; one seen is modern addition for display. Recovered from midden pile on outskirts of Marysville, Montana. Inside the mirror's lower curve is broken but extant along with a fragrant powder w/neat sliding door dispenser. No cam for closeups of that, unfortunately; this image is really a scan. Unable to ID maker or anything else besides dating through design and two separate exact matches from some random pay-to-play auction sites not displaying details. Cheers.

Interesting find. Looks to be silver plate over copper.
