Bought these today. Searched and searched for info.

They are two different sizes, with symbols being on the larger one.

Any help or guidance to a source will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

The faces appear to be Chinese, based on the queue hairstyle (ponytail sorta thing).

"Yorilco" does appear to be a Japanese feminine first name...guessing pronounced "yori-ko"

thank you for your responses. When I put "Yorilco" into Google, it switches it to "Yoriko" which leads to all kinds of Japanese images. I agree they look Chinese, but Yorilco or Yoriko goes with Japanese. Maybe someone can read the marking on the one not signed in English? I am stumped. Any help is appreciated :)

that "l-C" you are seeing could easily be a "K"....

i'll tell you this too...ceramics are big in Japan, there are sections in Tokyo alone that are just shop after shop of ceramic art pieces, both functional and decorative. the symbols on the bottom of yours are not any Japanese I can recognize, they are most likely a personal way to sign the pieces....they are stamped in, no? not to say that these HAVE to be Japanese, they could have been made anywhere.

There's no 'L' in the Japanese language. But Yoriko is definitely a name. I couldn't find anything about a ceramics artist by that name, though. The other marks are puzzling and may be stylized kana.
