So far I know it is a Japanese Cherry Blossom Viewing Medal and was minted at the Japan Mint, not sure if Osaka or Hiroshima? It's Silver, weighs approx 4.32 ozs.Sits in a purple velvet case. There are no markings on the outside of the velvet case, and no coa or tag(s).

My question is what Year was it struck.

Beautiful piece! I can't seem to get the pictures to show the way they normally do at this site, but the ninth pic, when I use my view picture mode isn't completely clear when I blow it up. It seems to have the "Gun-Jin" pure silver mark beneath where it says SILVER. This was originally the Meiji silver mark denoting 95% silver. However, it is sometimes used today for anything from sterling and up. The diamond shaped mark will probably tell the tale, so to speak. There are a few members with Kanji skills, perhaps one of them will chime in and tell us what the script on the medallion and box means. Once again, love the piece!
