Hi all!

This isn't a detecting find. My wife buys misc. lots of costume jewelry and the like and this was in one of those lots. There was also some US military stuff in the jar. Take a look at the bottom photos as I am including them to possibly help with the id.

The pin in question reminds me of a maroon flower with a white star in the center. There is also writing on both the front and back. If anyone can shed any light on this pin, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Doug

my chinese friend says the text on the back says"the back its more japanese-ish style but the word is in chinese/kanji , the front is chinese, i would def say its jap/taiwanese. the plum blossom is used in the Taiwan national song .its traditional writting so it couldnt be commie
commies uses simplified writting style, traditional characters has more strokes, and japanese uses them as well." Interesting piece and he is going to look around and see what he can come up with.
