January bottle digging upstate ny

Thanks!

Nice sodas and inks, any glass is good. Must admit those didn't come easy for you if your weather is anything like we've had a little further north.

You betcha!

Great looking bottles. Especially for this time of year.

Great bottles. Glad you were able to dig in the cold weather.

Great assortment of bottles and I commend you for digging in the cold!

How deep was it froze? Were there bottles down below those on top?

Very nice, I'd love to find some old bottles like that!

That is one nice group of unbroken bottles. Those that venture out in NY this time of year deserve to be rewarded. Care to share any info on the particular bottles? They all look quite interesting.

Great haul! Did you cover the hole with a sheet of plywood so you can continue to dig the rest of this winter, that's a trick sometimes used here in NH when the winter bottle itch overrides common sense...lol

Love the old bottles! What are the approx. age of those?

Something that non-bottle diggers might not think about is how many calories get burned digging in frozen conditions. I dig right through winter (easier if you have a tunnel/mine going in the dump) and far from being cold, I'll be hot and sweating even when below freezing. At temps above 40 you don't even need a coat because it gets too hot, provided you keep moving and heaving dirt.

Anyway, great finds!

Bottles...

Those are some awesome finds. Good on ya for getting out in this weather to dig. Guess I'm spoiled. Gotta wait for warmer weather before I go out with my detector.
