Jade?

Boredom got the best of me again this morning and I took a a couple pans worth of dirt/rocks from a little wash near my house, I knew there wasn't any gold but I'm always on the lookout for good garnets or other gems, I didn't find anything really interesting but I found this which I thought was quartz but then I did specific gravity test and I'm getting 2.95. Could this be jade you think?

Not Jade. It's Olivine schist an orthosilicate Steve. It's pretty common around the Bradshaws. I'm surprised you haven't seen it before.

Very Nice...that would be a keeper for my rock pile.

I've seen that in the Bradshaw's, this one just felt different and it was found in the lower agua fria, more of like a little tributary running along the side, its pretty hard, about the same as quartz maybe a little less and a colorless streak, just thought maybe it was nephrite.
