What a fun day! Perfect crystalline blue sky in the low 50's with clean air that feels so good to breathe. The flocks of wild turkey have their Toms strutting around with feathers puffed up.

Scored what I believe is my second-ever knee buckle and it's quite ornate. I also found another post-War 1812 US Naval Officer's button. This one is larger and flat while the previous is domed. Ended the day by scanning some eroded banks near a glacial kettle hole and came up with a handful of broken points and a chunk of worked jasper. Was thinking this may be petrified wood as you can see a tree bark like cortex and possible growth rings.

Headed back out tomorrow to return to the area where I found the buckle and nipple button. That's a newly discovered site deserving more attention.

I have a bag full of Georgian shoe buckles, frames, chapes, and tines that I've found detecting. I previously found this complete matching set of mid-1700's shoe and knee buckles not far from each other in the same strata. The other small buckle I found today in the lower right seems too small to be for a shoe. And it seems a bit cruder. No reason why it couldn't be older. The English colonist were here by 1650.
