I have been on a real button roll lately... not that I am complaining. As Elad stated to me earlier; "they are like candy". I dug 15 more from my button field bringing my total from this site to :dontknow: maybe 300 buttons or more?

90 percent of the buttons are toast, but I was lucky enough to get some keepers and a few surprises as well. The best surprise of all was the Jacksonian button with the RJ & Co backmark. I saw a bit of gold on the wing, so I thought it would be a good candidate for an Aluminum Jelly treatment. As you can see, it worked out beautifully! The pictures do not do this tiny button justice. It looks much better in person.

Since I had the AJ out, I decided to try it on another button. There was another corroded metal around the edge of this button but it became brittle and broke off, exposing the silvery, white plating underneath. This old button turned out to be a real beauty!

All in all it is a nice assortment of brass, pewter and tombacs, along with an unusual colonial era French ??? watch winder and some other goodies.

The SLQ came from an old swimming hole I detected last weekend. It is only my second SLQ, and both are dated 1917.

I never get tired of digging buttons :headbang:

Cool button :icon_thumleft: Your Quarter looks like it had another coin in the hole with it judging by the patina. HH
