So we are spending the weekend with my wifes family in SE Nebraska. My brother-in-law works at an Indian casino about 20 min away. I recall reading somebodies posts about hunting at a casino so I ask him if they have slots that use Half dollars. Turns out they are in the process of upgrading their slots but for the time being they are still using half dollars. So the wife and I drop the kid off with her mom and head out to the casino to find some silver. Over the course of about 2 hours we go through about $1300 and ended up with...

1 - 1960 Franklin
1- 1964
15 - 40ers
1980 proof (a little banged up but not terrible)

Due to the coins constantly banging around I found it alot harder to spot the 40%ers by rim checking so I may have missed some. Most were found just watching the coins spit out into the tray and snatching it up as soon as I saw silver. Ended up losing about $60 playing the slots so will have to cut back on that next time. My wife found the Franklin and the '64 so she was pretty excited as this was her first silver hunt. Well we will be heading back there tomorrow to have a little competetive hunt between the two of us. HH Josh.

Be careful with the gambling part of your search. Even with your finds you are about $25 or so negative at this point. Maybe the casino would let you just buy a bunch of their halves since they are switching out of them?

when I was in Vegas I just went up to one cashier, bought $200 @ a time went and sit down and sorted them then took them to another cashier and cashed them in. No gambling, just sorting lol

I hear you on the gambling part, I almost didn't realize I had lost that much until the end of the night when I cashed everything in. While sorting I would occasionally drop a coin in and spin the machine, adds up quick when you are using half dollars. Definately need to be more careful about that, but then again a night at the casino, buffett, small stack of silver all for only $60 isn't too bad.
