Looks like a great day detecting! I remember the JC Higgins brand...

Nice assortment of finds AtW (especially the J.C.HIGGINS bicycle neck badge). Thanks for sharing...

Cool finds ATW. I am old enough to remember J.C. Higgins brand stuff. I think I remember a friend had a .22 caliber rifle under that trade name. BTW, I just adore green patina on old brass no matter WHAT it is!:love10:

Great find on the JC Higgins bike plate. I once owned one of those bikes,

Nice finds, especially the bike plate! :occasion14:

Good Hunt, I have to agree with the majority about that bike badge....very nice.

The American Pickers might be interested in the bike badge.

Interesting finds. Well done, Congrats and HH

Nice hunt! I had a J.C. Higgens with that same badge!
Thats awesome!

Sears Roebuck also made shotgun shells with the name J.C.Higgins on them. look up J.C.Higgins on wikipedia- Gavin M.

nice head badge, maybe you get lucky and find that deluxe 56 tank that matches it.

Cool head badge...the only one I ever dug was one from about 1898...very collectable artifacts that are often overlooked.

Interesting, I agree with Steve from PA, American Pickers would like that badge.

J.C. HIGGINS was actually an employee in the Accounting Department of Sears Roebuck. It was decided to sell items under the J.C. HIGGINS brand.
(His full name was John Higgins , no middle name. Sears decided to add the C. John Higgins eventually retired as the Company Comptroller).
Among the many sporting goods products marketed under the J. C. Higgins brand were; Rifles, Shotguns, Bicycles, Golfing Equipment, Baseball, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Volleyball, Tennis, Fishing, Boating , Camping, Boxing, and Baseball Uniforms. The J. C. Higgins brand also extended to luggage.
In 1941, Sears Roebuck started to re-label some of their products under the Ted Williams line.
