It's old....but what is it?

Hunted a local ballfield for about an hour tonight after the rain stopped, found a few pieces of clad and this thing. It looks like a buckle or clasp of some sort, the front shows the word "Hickory" and a sketch of what looks like a "snowman" pulling on a dog leash. It is clearly marked "Pat Mar 1907" on the top/rear. Anyone familiar with the history of "Hickory" buckles?

Thanks for lookin'.

HH

Re: It's old....but what is it?

Looks like a suspender clip to me, however, I might be wrong.

That was my initial thought too but it measures only 1" wide total, a little smaller on the inside where the strap would pass through.

It's might be a part of clothing by Lee Jeans. In the 1920's they introduced their Hickory Denim line. Just a guesswork.

I agree with you Mental Granny, in regard to it having come from the kids snow pants.
It certainly would make the most sense :icon_thumright:

A court case involving the same patent and patent date. Just some more neat info.
