No, I didn't get a detector yet, but I did find 16 cents at the high school today while waiting for my son after his ball game. LOL. I was PO'd at an old guy that cut across my path and picked up a nickle. That was my nickle,
Can't wait to get a detector.

You did better then me .The other day i went picnic area and i found 4 cents.There was so many bottle caps screw caps pulltabs everywhere.16 cents is not bad with out a detector.

You guys are too funny.I actually got a walmart special detector for xmas and after using it a few times im also hooked.10 minutes ago i ordered a Ace pro 250 for $212 delivered/boatload of accessories.I just dont know how long it will take to ship to my house in mass.i didnt wanna spend extra for there fast 1-3 day delivery services.kellyco is where i ordered it from.

Lots of luck with the Ace 250. From what I hear its a good detector for the price.I have a Garrett also and love it. The Customer service at Garrett is Excellent.

I was talking to a friend a couple days ago about detecting. He said his father was into it before he died. He had a White's . He's gonna ask his mom if she still has it and if she would part with it. I'm crossing my fingers that it's a DFX, MXT or XLT, but I'll take whatever it is. It'll be a good start without spending top dollar. Then I'm going back to the school.

You can always try Ebay for a second hand detector.If you decide the hobbie is not for you you can always resell it on Ebay with out loosing a fortune.

Back when I smoked, and ocassionally I bum a cig and say OP's (other Peoples) were the best...because they were free (or reasonably cheap)
