Any early Spanish history there? They used the fist symbol to ward off the evil eye.

There was a big patch of white sand under the tree. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. It's just as I found it. I was surprised at the condition myself.

When I write slave related I mean that some Black people culturally wear copper around wrist, ankle or neck for the medical benefits of copper.

I found this in the S.C. low country under a huge oak tree. Its a bracelet made of some kind of wire (copper?) but it has a really detailed hand in the shape of a fist on each end. Has anyone seen any like this before?

It does have a African origin. And I wouldn't doubt that it is slave related, look at that housemaid cuff on the one that you found, see at this link:
