It's not all good

I've been out the last few days a total of 4 times and haven't found much at all. I have met quite a few forum MD'ers and as far as I am concerned that makes it all worth it. My finds for the last two hunts are as follows.

A metal hair comb, toy car, a couple of bangle bracelets, a cheap hoop earring and a bunch of the usual junk. YUK

This morning it was even worse! A big bolt, a couple of small pieces of lobster cage, bottle caps and another toy car, oh yes, and a HUGE chunk of something. Maybe a piece from a car or boat? I have no idea. I didn't even find one coin this morning.

BUT the water sure was great! I loved it! I met Snookison and Bac42 today and it is always a treat to meet fellow MD'ers, especially ones that are fellow forum members!

Hey

the reason why you arent finding much...Your fellow MD'ers out there..I betcha they are finding what your not. Looks like alot of competition...

I would try other beaches, then come back

Be careful hitting the beaches in Pinellas before 5 am. Someone that posts here received a parking ticket and was threatened he would be charged with trespassing. Apparently no one is allowed there before 5 am.

As for hitting other beaches....wow. Last week I hit one spot that no one in the past hunted. A real ugly, dangerous spot with broken glass everywhere etc. I didn't get one signal there. Even all the pulltabs have been dug out of there.

I did end up finding 4 rings at other beaches, all of which turned out to be plated junk. One even had what at first I thought was a big ruby, but turned out to be glass.

I know the competition is more then usual now so it's expected. I've also been told by many of the seasoned hunters that there are less people this year at the beach.

The highlight of my week was having a 6 foot sand shark slowly swim by me. He was about 5 feet away from me just swimming along. I guess that's the price you pay for having water with great visibility; you can see everything.
