I’ve been away for work for several weeks, part of the time in the Port of Miami on a ship. I did sneak away for cob hunting in the Keys, but with no luck...

I arrived back in the NorthEast and got my first hunt in today with my daughter. It was 20 degrees and the ground was completely frozen at this site, but we did manage a 40 minute hunt.

The first signal was among frozen rocks and I smashed this nipple button. Amateur mistake.

The other two signals were wicked deep. The frost line was 3”-5”, so after that the digging was easy. Found a great rope motif tombac button and a sweet buckle fragment. Too bad it wasn’t whole.

And a nice time with my daughter, nickname Looshk. That girl has already dug a bunch of 17th and 18th century relics

Good hunts everyone

Nice! Yep, I would've liked to have seen that buckle whole, it sure is unique. Great times with the kids, good Daddy! A family that plays together stays together...Ddf

Great finds and beautiful girl. Continued successful hunting.

Nice little hunt, especially for this early part of the season. Great photo

QUALITY TIME AND SWEET FINDS CANT BEAT THAT

It’s the fourth style of shoe buckle from this site. I was glad my daughter got to dig a good fragment and a “pretty button”

Certainly early. A report from some friends was the woods were thawed but that wasn’t the case for me at this site. I was glad to even get that mangled button. Didn’t figure on anything

The shoe buckle frame fragment is sweet.

But the real treasure is the memories you created today. Lucky dad.

Great hunt for Father and Daughter. Great relics found but the greatest Treasure was time spent together. Well Done and Continued Success to the two of you.

Great hunt in a great company! I wish I was able to get out on a hunt, the ground is not only frozen but covered by a foot of snow.

Glad you got out, detecting with your daughter...priceless! :occasion14:

Thanks Tom. First a dad, then detectorist. I blurred those lines a few years ago and promised myself I wouldn’t anymore. Cheers bud

Nice finds and great photo.
Cheers

Your daughter is a cutie Steve-o, she must take after her mom. Now take her somewhere where she can find a beautiful militia plate.

Steve your girl is cute and she's tough! I guess she gets it from her dad (the tough part that is) :laughing7:

Glad to see you back home getting back into the "swing" of things Steve. As soon as that permafrost burns off the door will be open for who knows what. Good luck!

Yes it seems like everyone agrees she has her mothers looks. She’s certainly has seen her share of goodies on hunts - best being an Napoleonic era 1809 Swiss 5-Batzen ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1517878186.066089.jpg a couple years ago.

Thanks Bill. I regrouped yesterday and hit a wooded site that faces south and got in a hunt with my son. And yes, I found the darndest coin. I’ll post the results in a bit
