Stopped at a new permission I noticed the grass was cut on the way home from my sons football practice...I only hit this once for about 20 mins and the grass was too high. After about ten minutes and some copper Lincoln’s bam a 1934 quarter nice shape...2 feet away 1845 large cent readable and nice....4 feet away my first SLQ in amazing condition! On my way out I get a 31-33 on the nox800 I flip the plug and see a half...I turn the video on...definitely silver but wait...a 1957f silver 5 mark? That’s weird...I’m in northeast PA...it was funny too bc I know a member in the northeast just found some German coins too and I got a kick out of it...anyway here ya go it’s been a while since I had more than 2 silvers!

Man that is one nice SLQ. Big congrats.

WOW, thats a home run! Congrats! The large cent is Sweet!

I dug a SLQ tonight also :occasion14: Yours is a real beauty!

Great finds, I love the SLQ!

Steve

Congrats!!! a real nice find!!! I live in Germany and it is funny what kind of coins I find over here. In one field I found 4 Heller 1768 (German), 5 Ore (Norway 1908-1957) 1 French Franc 1934, several coins 1871-1877, 3rd Reich coins.....all in about 200 yards.....but what I would like to point out is I have as many coins (3) dating back to 17hundred..... as I have German Mark coins (2x1 Mark + 1x2 Pfennig) We had the German Mark for about 50 years.....man, we really cared for our German Mark not to lose 'em....so it is kind o' special to me finding a 5 Mark coin (called Heiermann in Germany) being in the US. I can't even find one in Germany :icon_thumleft:

No doubt...those SLQ's are usually wiped of the date and most of the relief, so yes, great find!! I have found only one with a weak date, yours is a beauty! Ddf.

That's some nice finds there Pa brother.

Wow! Great looking silver save. Lots of detail on that beauty. Congrats

Wow, nice variety. Silver, copper, 1800s, 1900s, foreign. That’s awesome!

I'm an odd one with my SLQ's as every one I have dug has a date. However, I don't have one anywhere near as nice as that 25 you dug. Congratulations on a great successful hunt and thanks for sharing.

Thanks again everyone!

Grab your lawn mover some extra batteries wear a ground keeper orange vest and start rippin

Your 5 Mark coin is the find of the day. Called Heiermann or Silberadler (Silver Eagle) and was the last German coin with silver in it. 7grams to be exact. 625/1000 Silver.
These were minted in the millions but are not easy to find. In my 30+years of detecting i found not a single one and know very few who did. It's a highly collectable coin and comparable to a $5 coin. https://www.ma-shops.de/shops/search.php?searchstr=BRD:++5+Deutsche+Mark+1957+F,

Thank you westfront! I didn’t even realize the value of that and tbh the 5 mark in in better shape than the SLQ believe it or not...it’s def AU

Man, that SLQ is beautiful! :occasion14:
