It's been a little while, but here's what I've been up to! **Pictures Galore**
Hello fellow silver fiends! I've been really busy getting ready for the upcoming semester and whatnot, so I haven't been posting as much as I would like, but let me assure you, I have been hunting my @$$ off. I think you will be quite please with some of my recent finds.
So I wake up Tuesday morning with 2 voicemails; one from a guy who said he saw a posting of mine on craigslist and he wanted to see his silver eagles "go to another collector" and if I was interested, to give him a call. The second voicemail about made me crap myself, it was from my good buddy Joe who's a teller at the huntington down the road and he said he had 8...yes 8 of the "old dollar coins". I brushed my teeth, and ended up leaving the house in about 4 mins in sandals, shorts, and a tshirt...in 13 degree weather. I got to the bank, and told Joe to hand them over and he plops down 5 peace dollars and 3 Morgans. (This is the same teller that saved me a Morgan dollar about 2 months ago). I gladly took them off his hands, and returned about 30 minutes later with 3 stuffed crust pizza's for the bank. The spoils ended up being a 1921 Morgan, a 1921-s Morgan, a 1890-cc MORGAN TWO 1922-s peace's, TWO 1923 peace's and a 1925 peace.
After that, I went to a couple PNC's in the area and picked up 5 boxes of dimes and a box of quarters and pulled 12 silver Rosie's including a 1957 proof and 3 silver Canadians and a 1964 ender from the quarters (sadly the only silver in the box ).
While I was opening the coins I had almost forgotten about the guy from craigslist, so I decided to give him a call about the ASE's and after talking for a few minutes he told me he'd take $20 per coin because he liked seeing them go to another collector. So I drove about 30 minutes out to buy the coins from the guy and when I get there, it was a (excuse my term) "dark-skinned" man in his 20's and I thought oh --deleted--, I'm getting robbed, aren't I? But he was super polite and we talked inside Starbucks for a good 15 minutes and when he showed me the coins, I was absolutely thrilled! He pulled out 8 ASE's, 6 being uncirculated, 1 painted 2000 in an airtight case and a 2004 West Point Proof with case and all. I payed him the $160 cash and went out to my car to stare at the coins for 45 minutes.
But wait, the day of all coin hunting days isn't over yet. On the way home I stopped by a little credit union I had never been to and asked if they had any halves and they sold me all 25 rolls they had. I figured it was a dump, but I got back home and pulled 56x 40%'ers and 6x 1964's from them. I was thinking of going to a few more banks before they closed, but I thought God would strike me down if I found anymore silver. So I chalked it up as a win.
I really don't think I'll ever had a day quite this good for as long as I hunt, unless I find a couple solid rolls (which I've yet to find 1).
Today, I just went and dumped all my coinage for cash since most of my banks were low on coin.
Spoils:
8x ASE's
5x Peace Dollars
3x Morgan Dollars
12x Silver Rosie's
3x Canadian Dimes
1x Silver Washington (Ender)
56x 40%'ers
6x 1964's
Comment, enjoy and HH!

P.S. A little silver porn (my collection) at the end!
