Its been a good day!

It was sunny and sixty degrees here in east Texas today. Headed out to a an old home site thats been to high with weeds to hunt. Weeds had finally thinned out enough to hunt it.....Very first target of the day I dug my second silver, a 1926 Mercury dime! Only other coin was a 1917 wheatie. Found a couple cool buttons and a few other goodies......one looks to be a belt buckle or a strap holder that has a pat. date Jan 12-04. Also found a carburator piece that went to an old car with pat. date 11-28-11......(googled it) I'm still stoked about the silver! lol

Thought your detroit lubricator part might be one of the caps from their early steam engine lubricators, but you IDed it correctly

I found a very large lubricator unit last summer & spotted another in the mud today,
They yeild a good bit of brass for recycling
