Looks like you got a 10k gold ring there CONGRATS AA

The most common carats used for gold in bullion, jewellery making and by goldsmiths, for example, are:

24 karat (millesimal fineness 999)
22 karat (millesimal fineness 916)
20 karat (millesimal fineness 833)
18 karat (millesimal fineness 750)
15 karat (millesimal fineness 625)
14 karat (millesimal fineness 585)
10 karat (millesimal fineness 417)
9 karat (millesimal fineness 375)

Besides a nice 10 karat ring, it appears that you also found a nice wheatback penny. WTG

you better take it easy, but I know how the bad the itch to detect can get. you got some nice finds for it too, I am glad.

I feel cooped up myself right now but not because of an injury. Next week I have to set up booths for my business and this week it is total chaos getting everything ready. No detecting this week and definitely none next week. Hopefully I can get back at it in a couple weeks. Good luck with your surgery, ask them to put steel plates in your knees while they are at it then you won't ever have to worry about knee pads!

thanks all it was fun but on the 18th back to the hospital for da knife :-\

ah 10 K nice --- funny 10 K is not normally marked with % numbers like that (417 out of 1000 parts pure or 41.7% gold ) --thats a more european way of marking stuff normally -- most european stuff is at least 14 K (585) and often 18 K (750) good find any way
