I've been metal detecting for about 3 years and found about 10 gold rings, just found a 18k gold 10 days ago, and found lots of silver and junk rings also around $1000 in clad but was still looking for my first old coin. well the other day i took a trip back to the park from the 1800s where i had just found the 18k gold ring and i found it. a 1884 silver morgan dollar!!!. Awesome! That coin looks like it has been in the ground for a very long time. Can you tell the story of the find? What kind of place, signal, how deep?

it was at a county park thats been around since the 1800s. i was doing some hunting along the grass line where there wouldn't seem to be much activity and i got a signal which usually turns out to be large trash but im one of those who diggs EVERYTHING, and about 2 or 3 in deep was this morgan dollar.

two or three inches deep? Sheesk, you "cheated", haha. Nah, just kidding, congratz!

Love the toning. :coffee2:
