Well guys and gals > since I became a member and have become addicted to MDing and this site, I have mostly found alot of iron !! some pieces were pretty heavy to lug around in the field. Lost the old axe , Laid it in the field , then spent 30 min. trying to find it back But today I went to where I knew an old house use to be > left work early around lunch > Still has some old flowers that grow up wild here and there > what I think was the backyard > I hit a sound shallow to medium > didn't read coin but I dug anyway > it rained Sunday so it was easier to dig. Here I find a small doll and a little plate > both porcelain > I am a newbie so I am confused at why these would cause my MD to sing I was wiping them off > amazed that they were not broken > but it is not a field , I stood up my MD went off again just holding it > I pin pointed it over the hold, down on my knees again :P and I dug this spoon up off to the side !! an old metal cream of wheats spoon> that is whats written on it. The little doll has Japan !! I clean this up with Barkeepers Friend > sort of like Comet cleaner. Well OK I know that it is a girly find > but Hi, I'm a girl

The old house has been gone 30 years or more > abandoned forever before that > Maybe early 1900s

Aren't there sometimes gold rims around the edges of plates like that? Wonder if that would be enough to get your detector going

Wow, looks like you had a great day. Love the Milk spoon, actually it's a cream spoon, it hung in a milk bottle. Really like the doll and plate, neat finds.

You sure that spoon doesn't say "Creamora"? I have one just like it.

Good finds. I've found porcelin buttons and a sew-on doll's arm while digging other targets.

Just a guess that spoon dates between 1900 and 1940's. But it's just a guess.
