it's a grill...

Vintage hibatchi? High water uncovered it, very heavy cast iron, I only toted the lid home this time. Further up the creek is a tripod stand with a circle in the center, possibly part of it? I think it had a handle at one time, and is worth sandblasting..Anyone seen one of these before? Thanks for looking... 003.webp

I was wondering that too, I'll look in that direction, Thanks taz42o!

A clinker is a piece of solid coal ash. I guess from the minerals in the coal. The picture looks like a shaker grate. I carried in a lot of coal buckets and carried out a lot of ash in my days. Lived in a coal company house all of my youth and some of my adult life. Had a coal furnace a few years back and had to get a cast iron part custom made for the grate. Hurt my wallet!

Looks like the top and bottom of an old stove, the sheet metal sides have rusted away. Tony

I think it all goes together, I think that lid fits on the other part. I'm going to get the rest of it in the morning, and that stand, don't think it's really part of it, but it might be. I'll look up shaker grate, thanks!

Those are the 2 bottom sections of a pot belly stove. The part you are calling a lid is the bottom then the shaker grate goes on it then the pot belly fire box[2 pieces] then top. both pieces in your picture are upside down.
