It's a gold day!

I decided to hit a local ballfield today for a few hours. Started swinging around 7 am and the adventure started in deep right field. Pulltabs and slaw were a plenty, but started finding clad closer to the infield and the gaps.

I eventually worked my way over to the area behind short stop and third and got a solid mid tone one the ATPro reading a steady 67-68 at 4in. Thought it was another zincoln so cut a nice deep plug and when i flipped it over....i saw the ring. Thought it was a junk ring but noticed it had no tarnish, then...i see the 10k mark. It has a nice big amethyst and weighs 11g. The other interesting find was this copper tag that has 1936 on the top and the letter R at the 9 o'clock position, O at the 12 and a D at the 3 position. Any help with this one?

The pics, well i wanted to show how many damn tabs and junk i pulled while in the outfield, including the piece of a hunting arrow. Yikes!

A great day hunting! HH

Jay

Beautiful, beautiful ring.

Thank you, Susan, it's my first gold. I'm still excited about it lol

nice finds congrats HH

That's a great ring! I rarely find anything at ballfields, and never anything good.

I think I was able to ID the unknown copper tag. It's a 1936 Radio Orphan Annie decoder! Ok, now thats cool! A little piece of Americana to go along with the gold....Yup, it was a good day. And also a a thank you to all.

Great score on that gold ring jay!
