Hey folks,

Got two items from my Civil War site (although I do see objects all the way to early 1940s pop up as well).

First item is a large cover of some sorts and appears to have a letter “H” stamped in it.

Second item has what appears to be a serial number inscribed in it (24472) with a makers mark of what appears to be a “vase with an circle inside of it”.

I’ve scoured the net looking at mint marks/similar CW items and have come up short, any help or ideas would be appreciated.

To me, the second one looks like a Pennsylvania keystone symbol on a bale seal. What metal is it? Lead?

You are correct, that does look like the outline. It seems to be broken off a handle of some sorts (not folded together like a bale seal). It’s definitely not lead but can’t tell if it’s iron/brass/bronze?

Your round item looks like a brass patchbox lid from a musket or a lid for a cleaning kit storage area on a buttplate.

don't know about that marking but the round one reminds me of the pan from a leg hold trap.

Looks like someone didn't like being locked out of the house and got a little rough with the door handle.

First pic looks to me like a Master Cylinder cover.

top item looks like a scrapper

This thing is way to fragile for anything like that (although admittedly looks similar) it bends with little force that’s why I figured it was decorative.

What are the actual measurements on these items?
