Italian-Turk what?

I have done research on this object found in Italy a few years back and all I can find is something about the Italian-Turkish campaign between 1911 and 1912. What would this piece of metal be used for? It says "Guerra-1911-Tripoli" and has great pantina. There is nothing on the back and it has a hole after the word "guerra" which means war and Tripoli is in Libiya so I understand there is a connection, but how in this particular piece of 98 year old metal? Anyone know? Value?

I was inTrpoli, Libya in the mid 1960s for about 18 months and I don't remember seeing any coins like that. There were a lot of Roman ruins along the coastline and a huge museum in Tripoli that had all kinds of artifacts. Most of the wealthy and merchants in Tripoli were Italians at the time but I understand Kadaffee nationalized all the commerce and kicked the Italians out when he took over. By the way, the news papers spell it Gadaffee, but I was there and it is spelled with a "K". They wouldn't let you take photos in the museum and I suspect many of the artifacts were stolen and put there by the Nazis in WWII? Monty

It's interesting the way the text and numbers are placed. It seems it was meant to be read at the angle, as we see it in the pics. I imagine it was fixed to some sort of memorial object.
My computer tells me, that little conflict was notable for the first time an aeroplane 'delivered' an aerial bomb in war.

It's a shame it wasn't the last
