I think it's a movie prop the blade is steel,handle looks like alloy of some sort.the film helen of Troy was filmed here in 2003 so it may have come from that.i'm going back as I was getting deep signals that I ignored because it was hard digging in to clay.i'll post a picture once it's cleaned up

Gladiator,Troy, helen of Troy,agora and Julius Caesar have all been filmed here.ive sent e mails to the production company's with pictures,see if I get any feed back.
 

I wasn't quite sure what it was, there is nothing to scale it with. That sure must of been the loudest, biggest pull tab that ever rang your machine. Ha lol, could be the real deal, Spanish conquistador? Very cool I would love to have found it.
