Went back to a old park that I've hit a couple of times this year and had good luck at. Last time I was there, I came up with a 1905 Injun, a 1923 Merc, and a 1930 Wheat. So, I knew that there was still some good items there.

Didn't find any real old coins, but did find a couple of wheats (1944 and 1946 D), but did find two very unusual items. The first was a medal with the pin on the back busted off. On the front it says Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters. Had never heard of it, so looked it up on the net, and it's for the imaginary school in the X-Men movies. Even stamped with the Matel markings on the back. Sorry about the picture, but my lousy camera just couldn't get it to come out any better.

The most surprising find of the day was my first piece of gold jewelry that I have ever found, that wasn't a ring. This is a Catholic Mother Mary pendant, in perfect shape. It is a real beauty. I'll bet someone cried when they lost this beauty.

I'll get back to this place again after the next rain. The soil is starting to dry out real bad here as we are way below in our moisture levels.

Hope all of you had a great day too.

I sure did.

You can lay it on me now, brother.

You sound just like my wife. She said the same thing, and she's not even Catholic.

That taste is always there. I've found gold ear rings and rings before, but his was the first piece of other type jewelry. Couldn't believe how shiny it was when it came out of the ground.
