Hunted for a while with my buddy Tony today. A few of our sites fell through today so we found ourselves wondering where to go. We ended up at a 1791 homesite that is still in use today. Lots of modern trash to deal with but I got a nice solid hit (11-44) on my new E-trac a good ways from the house that was pinpointing at 6-7 inches. I dug down 7 inches and a nice large copper popped out of the dirt. Unfortunately my camera wasnt working in the field so I couldn't grab any pics of the coin fresh out of the ground. Recharged the battery on my camera when I got home even though I don't think that was the issue and strangely that worked and I got a couple pictures. Turned out to be a really nice 1732 King George II halfpenny.

Found this unknown relic about 50 feet from the KGII. Does anybody have any idea what this is? It appears to be made of copper or brass.

Nice oldie !
when you get it cleaned up show us a nice close up.
I've got a quite a few Geo II's, and only a couple have readable dates.

The details on the KGII are amazing, my only KGII was unreadable, all I could see was the outline of KGII's bust (Young Bust Type)

Cleaned it up a bit. Here's a couple more pics.

Congratulations on the 1732 King George II Halfpenny! :occasion14:
Sounds like you worked hard for that one ... which makes it that much more satisfying!
