I started off my day still running on my backup machine since my go to hadn't made it back from the repair shop just yet. I didn't really have a plan since that's just what usually works for me, so my first stop was at a local city park where I've had good luck finding (916) gold jewelry. Sure enough my intuition payed off with not one but 2 pieces stamped 916 plus a few diamonds in the pendant.
After that I headed out of town to an old church that I honestly didn't expect to produce much considering it's right next to a busy road, but it's old and the grass is tall everywhere else. After meandering my way all the way around the church and back around to the front I hit a signal that sounded like a quarter next to the sidewalk and started to dig.
Wow a container from a coin opp machine full of clad. I figured some kid lost his offering and didn't really consider it a cache since it was just clad and possibly just lost. Then a few feet away I found another one, then a few more feet another and another. Pretty soon I had 6 of these things full of clad that were all about 4 inches below the surface and look (based on the dates) like they have been there for about 10 years.
So I guess they were cached, but for what purpose. I can't understand why a church or anyone else would randomly bury these pods of clad, that would be the world's hardest Easter egg hunt for kids.
I also found a war nickel a tootsietoy car and some other oddities.
