this made my year! I'm walking on clouds...
it was a good 8" deep and on edge! You can't imagine
what it's like to dig a coin this old and see the date clear as day!
I dug 3 LC and some other stuff but for right now
this is my find of the year!

1723 Spanish II Reale - smokin'!!!
:)

it was nicked on rim but not by me. To say I am happy with this coin
is such an understatement! :)

WessThompson - yeah colonial SE PA

MC - hope you dig one too! You never know!

HJOLA: It is in beautiful condition, congrats., but even more for what may be a unique coin. The "nic, k and gouge starting from the nick, stirred up some memories. In those days it was a form of robbery to cut a small piece of metal from the rim of a handful of coins, then put them back into circulation, minus this small amount of Silver, But, these small amounts from a few coins amounted to a very good days salary. when you consider that 50 centavos in those days represented many days salary, in some areas 2 weeks .----! Tthe other way was to just shave some off of the rim, This was the reaon for milling the coins.

Upon blowing up the image it looks as if the notch was deliverately cut just remove some metal, the gouge appears to be a slip from one of the cuts. While this may not increase its monetary value, it should increase its' historical value. Take care of it.
