Today JuJu and I went to the lake and while he was water detecting, I was in the tot lot and found a 1.23. Not bad you say. But for the first time in 2 years I was able to bend over and dig my coins myself! It has been almost 1 year since my double hip replacement, and today it was all worth it! Next......the turf,uummm maybe not to soon, getting down one knee is the easy part, it's the getting back up thats tough! I know I know age hads everything to do with it! But I am a young 48!

Thank you for the replies, it was such a great feeling knowing that I could do it! That whole not being able to walk thing is BAD, there is soooo much dirt to dig and when you have to have someone follow you around and dig for nyou,,well it's not the same, you already know this! So get out there!!

You got DOWN! and You GOT BACK UP AGAIN! <frowns suddenly thinking he sounds an awful lot like an old Robin Williams routine> CAN I GET A HALLELUJAH BROTHERS AND SISTERS!? <grin> You know, all that up and down movement, while tiring, is actually strengthening too. I am glad to hear that everything is going well for you again Just please be careful and don't over do it, my girlfriends mother just had a minor fall and re-broke the hip that she had replaced and her pelvic bone along with it. I am sure she is quite a bit older then you (don't tell her I said that please) but it has been 6 weeks and she hasn't even been able to start her physical therapy yet. It's amazing what doctors can do these days but they still can't work miracles.
