It says Penn on it?

Found this by a 1910-1940s homestead. I searched Penn fishing reels and Penn tennis balls. Can't figure it out. Any ideas?

Could be the end of an old tennis racket handle with the manufacturer printed on it?

Because Penn is such a diversified name (Penn state as well) I don't think you will find anything googling the name Penn. This is a dust cover from something. If you look you can see the twist lock notches on the rim. Slight twist and pull up and it is removed. These could have been used for anything that needed regular servicing like a set of points on a farm tractor or contacts for virtually anything. Penn Controls has been in business for over 100 years so it could also be anything electronic Someone may chime in with an I have one of those, if not ....
