I have a small field that is cut off from the main part of the farm by a creek. The creek was finally dry enough to get the tractor and bush hog over to cut it - been a few years since I last cut it. Decided to spend a little time swinging the AT Pro and finally found silver -twice! I was totally blown away - 1835 Bust Half, 1905 Barber V, 1850 LC, old girth buckle and a cow ear tag. The nickle was right at the base of a willow tree on the creek bank and is a little discolored but in nice shape. The quarter has some wear but clear features. I need to get out and cut the other field next to this one! My photos pretty much suck - can't seem to get closeups to come out.

A heck of a day!
Congrats!

Very nice save, Nice Coins.
I spent all afternoon cutting grass and the only thing I found was a Beer Can someone pitched out the window of there Car.
Congratulations on your finds.
Happy Hunting
Kevin

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awsome keepers

At this time of year I need your cutting equipment for the same reason. The grass is too long to hunt.

Very nice old silver!

Congrats on finally getting some silver out at your place! And a nice one too. Hope to get back out there some time and test the F75. The grass is just so tall every where! It's like a jungle at the property we hunt...the grass is chest high in some places.

Congrats on finding some silver on your property!!! Thats two Busts in Two weekends, thats awesome!!! The grass is way to tall to do any more detecting at the property in Boyce for a while, cant wait till the cow's come in and eat it down. The bust looks to be in beautiful shape, maybe i can get a better look at it the next time im out your way.

Thanks to all - yes, pretty psych'd over the Bust half - Ryan/Matt, the field is the one that is next to my neighbors place, behind my house. I found the half up where the old plantation house drive used to run back in the 1800's. That top area had a lot of iron halo in the ground and I almost didn't dig the signal but something kept naggin at me to dig - glad I listened! The LC was almost right in the middle of the field by a rock outcrop. The first thing I found had me going - it was a coin-shaped object, about the size of the half, but unrecogizable - very corroded and pitted - no features. I thought I could make out some letters on it at first but after cleaning off the dirst there was nothing on it. Next weekend would be a good time for you to come on back out here if you like - DCMatt may also join us.

Awesome buddy. Saturday or Sunday would be fine for me...or both. lol

Wow! I've been out on the tractor myself, but nada to show for it. There are traces of an old flood irrigation ditch cutting across our upper field that date to the 1800s, but I'm afraid all the farm hands were dirt poor and didn't have any coins on them to lose.

Oh wow it's a liberty cap half dollar! I was reading it has a quarter for some reason. That's even better, you don't see liberty cap halves posted very often(never seen one posted since I've been a member since last year).

May not be able to make it next weekend, we are moving back to Winchester. Maybe i can get out there the following weekend?

Fantastic finds...makes me want to cut grass......ummmm...well maybe just go detecting.
