What are you looking at, the worn down 4?

Yes however I do not believe it is worn.. It's super weak. Just waiting to hear some people's opinions. Everything raised is very bold and no other marks of hard contact.

That's what I think too guys, either a very weak die or trh grease. Either way its being kept. Thnx guys

Far away it looks like a 4 but up lose like said before it looks to be a diagonal 1. Take it to a coin shop near you

I believe it is an error, maybe a minor 1 but hey, that's why I spend so much money on wheat pennies!!! I have a couple shops I can take it to, prolly do that tomorrow since I'm sick and no work anyway. Will keep posted until its just junk or a really cool looking error. Thnx for checking my penny out.

i agree with grease or die damage if it would have been a sideways "1" there would be other characters outta wack as the numbers aren't dies by themselves

I have found looking for variations in my collection if you look at them under a blue light it brings out the shadows and mid tones to where you can see double strikes and minute marks better. I hope you don't mind I have increased the picture size and used a blue color to enhance the shadows so people can see the picture a little better. Always worked for me but if not no harm no foul.
