I would just like to say "It does my heart good" to see in such a material world that people get such a kick out of these artifacts. It makes me feel good knowing these people are admired for their craftsman and their will to survive. In a time of such turbulence its great to know people can find comfort in such a simple way. This is the first forum Ive ever been connected with Id like to thank the founders of this site and the many people who contribute to it from atlantis' bayou shots to Linchas' sunshine post.Nice and personal just the way I like it.There just isnt a more relaxing,stress-relieving,passtime to me than digging in the dirt or walking along some stream in ''anywhere''U.S.A.You can actually feel the stress leave your body its definitely spirtual.....

I feel sorry for people that don't have a creek to walk or woods to explore. The people who made those artifacts felt the same way. I think living in a city causes stresses that people have learned to live with. People have learned to handle it, but its still there. Thats why you feel better in the creek or woods. People weren't made to live in such density, too bad that's where the jobs are.

yup, it spiritual

Just saw your other post....nice creek !!

Morning Jay,

I share your sentiments. I have enjoyed this forum since my first day here. We have some really great and quite knowledgable folks that truly have a passion for archaeology and treasure hunting. No controversy here, just a love of old stuff, craftsmanship and sharing of information.

Yes a walk in the woods...a good trip down the creek...a little visit with nature is quite spiritual. No cathedral was ever as awe inspiring as an old forest with a nice creek running through it. Just sit and take it in.

Welcome to our little corner of the world. Its cozy here...lol

Hi Jay. Yes I have only been on this site for a few weeks, and I love it. I remember as a child my father taking us on hikes on Sundays looking for artifacts, he would tell us indian stories, not sure if they were real or not but thats what makes memories. Im glad you found this site too, because it is very enjoyable. Enjoy the party of life and the good people here on this site. Oh yeah, and the great artifacts which we all enjoy.

Agree with all the above, I believe it was John Muir who said, take a walk in the woods, & your cares will fall away like leaves, & many the time mine have, walking among nature's gifts.

Fossis...................

One of the fields where I look has a wooded area beside it with a tobacco barn and a small creek. Talk about solitude! It doesn't matter how stressful life gets. All I have to do is go to this place and everything gets better.

I agree with all of the above too. It's so peaceful and relaxing walking the fields looking for Indian artifacts. You and Mother Nature and nothing else. I'll never forget the time last year, while I searching the fields next to the river, I had just found another perfect point (when I say perfect, I mean not broken, chipped or anything) when a shadow cross my line of vision. I looked up to see a hawk flying around, my instinct was The Great Medicine Man was keeping a eye on me. It was just an awesome feeling, that I shed a few tears.

;) RR
