Metal Detecting
I was asked to help find a wedding band which was lost in a shallow swimming area. After about 4 hours of detecting, below are the results.

* Coins: 22 quarters, 17 dimes, 12 nickels (1 is 1957) and 19 cents (Wheats: 1945, 1948D X 2, 1957D, 1941 & 1946D)
* Some various items
* 8 rings: 2nd from left is 14K, 3rd from left is 10K, last one top row is 14K and the flower ring is sterling silver

I'm hoping either the 14K or the 10K wedding band is the one somebody had lost about 12 years ago. I will post the details in about a week when the person is contacted and verification is confirmed. If none of these rings is the one in question, I guess I'll head back out for some more detecting in that area!

Now thats a great hunt. I would go back soon! Congrats!

That is one heck of a hunt. Very nice! Congrats!

A very productive 4 hours!! Congratulations on the multiple Gold rings!!!

Yeah that is pretty incredible. I hear the "Water" is where its at!!! I sure haven't found much gold over the years...but all 3 pieces I have found were all in 1 night. Similar to this. Very cool.

Gold and $2 per hour - I remember working in the cotton mills for $1.60 an hour!

And, most importantly, you got out and you had fun.

Congratulations!

Most folks stick to the land which I do 90% of the time as well. But if you find those rivers and lakes where people have congregated in years past, chances are good you will find some coins & relics. That is as long as you have a detector which can get wet :icon_thumleft:

Plus it really helps when you have a non metallic sifter to help search through the wet mud & sand just pulled from the water. I custom made one which works excellent!
