It ain't much, but it's my first Merc!! (and some button help maybe??)

Well guys, as some of you know, I'm about a month and a half into this AWESOME hobby! Haven't found too much worth posting about other than clad and "cha-chee" items, BUT,...today I scored my FIRST Merc! :headbang: A 1945!! Also managed to dig $1.06 in clad in about 2 hours.

Yesterday, I found my most interesting piece. It's a flat button and on the back, part of the text reads, "2ND QUALITY". There's more writing on the button, but I can't quite make it out. It appears to be in pretty decent shape, and the shank is complete/intact. I'm curious if any of you more experienced folks have any idea as to the history and/or rarity of this button. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks folks, and HH!!

Nice finds, the lion logo reminded me of the old Lowenbrau beer label.

Happy Hunting

The button I can make out is a mid-late 20th C blazer button.

Congrats dude! Were these from the same spot as the ring? I bet there is more there! The button appears to be a modern blazer button.

Thanks for the congrats folks! Back out I go in a few minutes.

Sigh. :-( Thought I might've found an "old/rarer" button. Oh well. There's much more ground to cover out there! =-)

Neil,...no. These weren't from there. They were found in the old(er) section of Howell. But as for more being where we were,....ABSOLUTELY!! We barely scratched the surface over there!

Congrats on the merc...Gotta be the best looking US coin minted..have fun and GL.
