Ist Ring of 09'

My wife and I went for a ride up the coast to see our financial guy. It was about 40 miles. I had my Pup with me and he was getting restless, so I stoped at a small park with a plyground to let the Pup out and run for a bit. As my wife walked the dog I decided to check out the sand lot by the parking lot. I had been there before and got zero not even a signal. As I went by the swings I got a good pull tab signal and was going to pass it by, but I wanted to try out my new scoop in the dry sand. As the sand sifted through the scoop I saw what I thought was a bottle top, but as the sand exited the scoop I could see it was gold!. I reached into the scoop and pulled out this 14K Mens gold ring with 7 diamonds. My best find ever. I posted it on the lost and found in the local paper to see if I might find who lost it but no replies. Now I have the bug to go detecting every day. No rings today but tomorow who knows!

Never pass up a nickle signal or pull tab unless of course you don't want to find anymore gold rings.

That was a awesome find congrats

Re: Ist Ring of 09'

I bet you will dig all pull tab signals from now on. People don't realize, that many rings sound
just like pull tabs. Using your ACE, you should try to hunt in Jewelry mode as much as you can.

Lay down one of your wife's rings and run your coil over it in coin mode. Many times it won't even pick it
up. Now run the coil over the ring in Jewelry mode, it will pick it up. I doubt you will be able to pick up
a fine gold necklace with your ACE, but try all metal on a fine gold necklace. One without anything on it, just the chain.

Good Luck and HH, Ringfinder

WTG that's why I dig all pull tabs. So I don't pass up any rings....Matt

Re: Ist Ring of 09'

Way to go!!! :thumbsup:Definitely dig all pulltab, and nickel signals. I know it can get frustrating at times, but that is where the gold is.

Re: Ist Ring of 09'

I have one just like that, I found it about 20 years ago, in an old Ice skating pond (summertime) 13 inches deep in ground......NGE

Re: Ist Ring of 09'

Mine only had 6 channel set diamonds, and I lost one, when I had it resized for me....NGE

Re: Ist Ring of 09'

Mine was appraised at 2375.00, it had 6, 11 point white diamonds. The jeweler said that by making the ring a little smaller, may make the stone fall out of the channel......guess he was right, lost one 3 weeks after resize. I don't wear it anymore......NGE
