from what I remember said,
You needed to swing these Fast to get any type of depth.
But at the time, They were one of the Top brands.

My Dad's cousin had a VLF840 and it was a very good detector. I bought a DE280 Outlaw which looked identical except for a bigger control box with an added indicator light which you could not see in bright sunlight. It also came with 8 and 12 inch coils. Every time we would go hunting together he would find silver dimes. He used his detector more than I did and got good at interpreting its signals. I still have my 280.
 

Made him an offer for $35.00. He said he wouldn't sell it for that and took his listing off line....
